Foreign License Conversion Course
Convert your overseas driver's license to a Japanese license
This course is for those who have obtained a driver's license in another country and wish to convert it to a Japanese driver's license.
We focus on learning Japanese traffic rules and safe driving practice, so you can not only pass the foreign license conversion skill test but also learn safe driving on public roads after conversion.
Target Vehicle Types
Ordinary vehicles (MT・AT)
Eligibility
- Aged 18 or over
- Have passed the knowledge confirmation (written test)
- Have stayed in the country of license issuance for 3 months or more in total after obtaining the license
- Hold a valid foreign driver's license
Process
- School enrollment procedure (advance reservation recommended)

Required Documents & Items
- Driver's license (if you have a Japanese license)
- Japanese translation of your foreign driver's license
(Only those issued by embassy/consulate or designated organizations such as JAF or Zipura) - Residence card
- Practical test notification slip, or knowledge test (written test) pass notification
- One ID photo (3.0cm × 2.4cm)
* Photo can be taken at our school for ¥770 - Course fee ¥55,000 (tax included)

Important Notes
- We do not guarantee that you will pass the foreign license conversion skill test.
- The course must be completed within 3 months from the enrollment date.
- The course is one set of 5 sessions (5 lessons), but extra lessons are available.
Extra lesson fee: ¥5,500 (tax included) per session. - Schedule changes are generally not accepted.
If a change is made, a rescheduling fee of ¥5,500 (tax included) will apply. - No refunds will be given if you withdraw from the course partway through.
